Andrea Sacchetti E-RYT 500, CYT Certified Yoga Therapist
Andrea Sacchetti is a Comprehensive Yoga Therapist, certified at the 500 hour level, and registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500. She has led and assisted RYT 200 and RYT 500 yoga teacher training programs, as well as numerous yoga teacher workshops. Therapeutic Yoga has been her passion and full-time focus since 2006. “Yoga, and sharing this gift with others, has been among the greatest gifts of my life, and at the heart of my own healing journey.”
Andrea specializes in adapting yoga to the individual student so that each student can enjoy a safe, personalized and beneficial practice. She offers techniques for stress reduction, wellness and healing in group classes and private sessions, and is the originator of several innovative programs and classes at the Princeton Center for Yoga and Health, where she has taught regularly since 2005. Additional course offerings include Healing Yoga and Meditation in Cancer Wellness programs, Yoga Support for Autoimmune Challenges, Yoga for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia, and Radical Healing. In addition, she has enjoyed teaching roughly 150 hours of yoga classes to teenagers in the New Jersey Juvenile Justice System. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Training includes: Spanda Yoga Teacher Training, under the direct supervision of Dr. Jamie Stover Schmitt, Comprehensive Yoga Therapy training with YogaLife Institute under Bob Butera, PhD, Street Yoga Core Teacher Training with Founder Mark Lily, 40 hours of teacher training and study with Sri Srivatsa Ramaswami, 20 hours with Carrie Demers, MD, Director of the Himalayan Institute Total Health Center, and numerous seminars, workshops and classes on yoga as a complimentary therapy for a wide variety of complaints including: Multiple Sclerosis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, allergy and asthma, addiction, recovery from trauma, osteoporosis and osteopenia, among others.
In addition to the yoga training, Andrea is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University where she obtained her B.A. in Religion. She worked for a number of years in educational publishing, market research, and executive recruiting before discovering her true calling to study, practice and teach the time-honored techniques and philosophy of yoga in the Himalayan tradition.
